News:
Most recently, Tim has formed his own company, "iTheatrics." The mission of this new venture is to:
- Create professional musical theater productions for young people to attend.
- Provide schools with the resources, skills and materials to present these shows with young people.
The first title in development is THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY based on the book FLAT STANLEY by Jeff Brown. Tim is creating the show with composer/lyricist (and buddy) Bryan Louiselle. For more information logon to www.intramusic.net.
Biography:
Tim was the founding director of the Broadway Junior Collection at Music Theatre International (MTI) and the critically acclaimed playwright of "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka" and "The After Schoolsical Special, Broadway Junior on Tour Volume 1." Tim is also a photographer and avid gardener.
In 1997 he was recruited by MTI CEO and Owner, Freddie Gershon (www.freddiegershon.com) to develop, launch and manage a revolutionary new approach in musical theatre licensing.
The result is what is now known world-wide as THE BROADWAY JUNIOR COLLECTION, musicals adapted for upper elementary and middle school aged children to perform, packaged with resources (or a "Showkit") designed to make the process of presenting a musical with kids easy, fun and educational and is the brainchild of Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Laurents and Freddie Gershon.
In 2001, Tim was tapped by Sir Cameron Mackintosh to adapt Les Miserables for High School aged kids to perform. Les Miserables School Edition is the most produced high school musical in the United States, Canada and now the United Kingdom.
Working with Macmillan-McGraw Hill, Tim adapted musicals for grades 1 through grade 8 for inclusion in the "Spotlight on Music" general textbook and for the first time moved the great American musical from an extra curricular activity to the core curriculum.
With Disney Theatrical Productions, Tim oversaw the creation of the Disney Collection of Musicals. (www.MTIdisneyCOLLECTION.com) an ever growing collection of musicals adapted from the Disney family of great entertainment.
Tim just completed directing and writing an original book for DISCOVER THEATER FEATURING DISNEY'S CINDERELLA KIDS AND DISNEY'S THE JUNGLE BOOK KIDS, which is currently touring performing arts centers across the U.S.
